THE ANIMAL COUNCIL (TAC) was founded in 1991 to combat San Mateo County’s (California) action to enact legislation forbidding cat and dog breeding, and mandating sterilization of all cats and dogs.  TAC is a California nonprofit, public benefit corporation tax-exempt under Section §501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code.

TAC’s goal is to seek positive, humane solutions to the challenges of animal rights activists through study, analysis and application of animal husbandry, statistics and law, and at the same time preserve human benefit from all species, breeds and registries.

Save Our Dogs - http://saveourdogs.net/

Save Our Dogs is a grassroots effort to spread the word about how AB 1634 will hurt working dogs in California. Most pet dog owners are not familiar with working dogs and so are not aware of the harm this bill would do if it becomes law. We believe that people who understand the impact of this bill will agree that it is bad law.

Iowa Alliance for Responsible Dog Ownership - www.freewebs.com/ammitnme/

Iowa Alliance for Responsible Dog Ownership (IA-RDO) was founded in 2004, with the purpose of providing education on all aspects of responsible dog ownership.

IA-RDO believes that by working closely with our communities we can strengthen dog/owner relationships and provide information on how to accomplish this for the betterment of our lives, and our towns.

IA-RDO works with a variety of organizations to provide educational materials when requested, and we have "no favorites". We believe that every individual or organization we work with has valid, credible information, and we refuse to be partial-preferring instead to get the most factual information available, regardless of its source, to the requesting individual or organization in as timely a manner as possible.

Our goal is to help unite all who seek responsible ownership as a standard in our lives and for our dogs.

Maine

Federation of Maine Dog Clubs - www.fedmedogclubs.org

The objective of the Federation of Maine Dog Clubs Inc. is to coordinate items of general interest to all-breed, obedience, and specialty clubs in the State for their mutual betterment.

We're the responsible dog owners and breeders in Maine. Sub-standard care and breeding practices are not acceptable to us.

Regulations currently on the books are more than adequate to track down offenders. Enforcement is the issue. In a challenging economic climate, the State of Maine needs to work with people who need minor upgrades.

Responsible dog owners and the dog clubs in Maine are a valuable resource with protection. And, all of society, not just responsible dog owners, should help pay for that protection.

Michigan

Michigan Association for Purebred Dogs - www.mapbd.org

What brings us all together in MAPBD is our collective interest in effective and fair canine legislation and promoting responsible dog ownership. Restrictive laws that effect dog ownership are proposed and passed every day at the national, state and local levels. Many of these laws are proposed by well-meaning, but generally misinformed citizens or legislators.  Unfortunately, too many of these initiatives are part of a radical "animal rights" agenda backed by well-funded groups working to ultimately ban all pet ownership.
