Devin Distilli http://www.dinovagsd.com/devin.html "I began showing German Shepherds when I was 9. At that time, I went to handling classes but only went to two shows. After a year and a half, and a little bit of training here and there, I got back into it, began showing again. I was undefeated and moved right out of the Novice class. I feel that dogs are a wonderful gift and that we should give them the best life we can offer. I look forward to competing in the Open class."

I started showing when I was 13 1/2, going to fun matches and learning the ropes. I took my first and second BJHs at the PPGSDC in Sept. 2007; and my third (getting me out of the Novice class) at the big Rocky Mountain Cluster all-breeds in Feb. 2008, over 84 other juniors. At the end of 2008, I was the #3 German Shepherd Junior, showing very sparingly. Summer 2008 was the best I've ever had. I learned more than I ever thought. I would like to thank Kay Humbert, Laura Bergstraser, Donna & Olivia Calabrese, Leslie Dancosse, Cathy & Kaitlyn Rickers, Susan Witmer, and everyone else who has pushed me forward in the show world. Lets make 2009 top 2008.
Christopher Martin

Chris started showing
German Shepherd Dogs in Juniors in September 2007. He is the # 1 GSD
Junior as well as the
# 1 Herding Junior, and 12
Junior in the Country Overall.
Chris would like to thank Phillip Moore and Nina Despres for all of their help and encouragement. Watch for Chris in Juniors with CH Laxfield's Tony Soprano (aka "Krunch,")
Ashley Miller
Ashley has been involved in GSDs since
she was 6 months old. She began showing in matches at age 7. By age
9, she was showing in breed. At 10, she started competing in
juniors. Before her 11th birthday, she won her first and second Best
Junior Handler (BJH) award and moved up to OJ.
"At age 11, I started to excel in junior
showmanship by winning 10 BJH that year. In 2002, I won the first
annual Robert Hamilton Award. My family and I went to the National
so I could receive the award. I almost didn't enter in Juniors
because we were mainly only going to get my award. I'm glad my
mother entered me because I won BJH - one of the proudest moments of
my life."
At age 13, Ashley won my first three BJH
at an all-breed. She also won eight first places, which she was
hoping would qualify her for Westminster, but that year they changed
the total wins to 10.
In 2006, she showed CH Happy Mar Nash
Bridges of Nordlicht (Nash) for the last time, at 9 years old, and
they won BJH. Since then, I've been showing a new Junior dog. In one
weekend, the pair won two BJH. In 2007, they have won a couple of
BJH and hope to keep their wins going.
Ashley has won the Robert Hamilton award
four times and The Highest GPA scholarship three
times.
"I thank everyone who has helped me
especially my mother, Heather Miller, Laurie and Jeff Greer, and
Sergio Espejo. These three have been my mentors and have
allowed me to explore the world of Dogs."
Carenza Rosa

![]() Carenza's wins from the novice intermediate class include Champlain Valley KC 7/14/07; Green Mountain KC 7/15/07; and Penn Ridge KC 8/10/07. In five weekends, Carenza noviced-out and became ranked as Top #11 GSD Junior in the US. She is ranked #5 in state of Vermont. Carenza has had some nice placings in the open division with limited showing because school comes first. She has a natural talent when it comes to showing dogs and also is an Honor student at Delaware Academy Delhi, NY. The first show Carenza entered was Susque-Nango (6/28/07). She has accomplishment a lot in Junior Showmanship in such a short amount of time.

Elizabeth was the first 8-year-old to win a class at the National, showing CH Glendhenmere's Dandelion Days in the Conditional Class. That day, when she stepped into the ring "I got chills up and down my spine," she said. " I thought, 'Wow, this is AWESOME!' " Dandi and Elizabeth were among a class of eight bitches. "The judge points to me to move up to the front of the line and the crowd went wild! The Judge took us around and she said, 'That’s how it will be 1, 2, 3, and 4!' When I took my lap around the ring with Dandi on a 16-foot loose lead, it was the happiest day of my life, and still is to this day! I don’t think anything could ever top the feeling and emotion I had that day."
