Dear GSD by Design,
Thanks so much for reprinting the article on
Lance from 25 years ago.  And a special thanks for including the web links to various dogs mentioned in the article.  It was very interesting going to the links and seeing the old photographs and critiques of dogs.  This was an excellent adventure into the GSD past.  You do a fabulous job of providing information to the fancy.  Keep up the wonderful work.

I just finished reading the piece about the great GV Lance.  It was so well done and I learned even more as I clicked on all the progeny AND the great critiques from the Judges.

What a wonderful learning tool for anyone new or old  and I am kinda old<G>   Great Job!  Unfortunately for me, I was not able to see a photo of our Ch. Hawkeye son, Ch. Randheim's Neil Diamond.  That was not your fault.  If I can find who does all these photos for you, I can scan his photo and send it.

It is such a wonderful thing that you do for us.  Thank you!

Do people realize that when they advertize with you the ad stays on the internet. Just Put in the dogs name and there it is. Free advertising after their ad runs out. How great is that and for such a cheap price too it's like having the gsdbydesign online for research. Maybe you should check this out, and let people know it's like long-term advertising for cheap. With our bad economy, this should be a plus for anyone looking to advertise their dogs for an honest price.

The article "A Sign of the Times" really hit a nerve with me.  I'm a small kennel owner. I only have one stud and one, possibly two, females at a time. However, living in Fairfield County, Connecticut, has shown me how my neighbors view German Shepherd Dogs. Several of them are prejudiced against GSDs and would readily sign a petition to have them removed from the neighborhood. What was written about is a scary scenario of the future. PETA does have a way with their advertising campaigns. We need to become a lot more organized and effective in selling our point of view.

Becky,

Great Job on the A-List. I would offer a couple of names and an event for inclusion next year.

The largest German Shepherd event in North America (with over 400 entries since 2006) is the GSDCA-WDA North American Sieger Show.

Junior Handler – Tessa Martinez, who handled more top placing German Shepherds at the Sieger Show than anyone else, including the adults.

Breeder – John Henkel of Wilhendorf, his family has been involved and breeding GSD since the 50’s. (http://www.wilhendorf.us)

Again great job on the website and the information.

Dear Becky,
I WISH more people would take advantage of your "
Studs" advertising!  It is very reasonably priced and it's the first place I keep looking at for studs. Unfortunately, there's some areas with no advertised studs?!

Are there just no worthy studs to profile?  Please stud owners, show us bitches what you have! It saves time to have pictures, pedigree, contact info, and everything else in one place and broken down by location.

In the category of Mentor/Breeder (2008 A-List), you could not have picked anyone better. I've known Frank and Carolyn for more than 30 years and have owed their dogs for almost 20 years.  I've always found Carolyn willing to discuss an issue and offer help.  We don't always agree on everything and that works too.
In the last 18 years, I have not gotten a dog from anyone else and will not get one from anyone else ever again.
Thanks for recognizing them.
