Dean Wylie - Candidate for the GSDCA board

AKC-licensed Judge Dean Wylie offers decades of experience. His longevity and track record in revitalizing regional clubs and sustaining all-breed clubs speaks for itself. He has served the Parent Club in numerous capacities over the years, up to and including his current position on the Futurity Committee.

Dean is a dedicated advocate for the German Shepherd Dog and the GSDCA. As a judge and a spectator at more than 50 specialty shows per year, he has an acute awareness of the problems facing our breed and breed clubs.

Dean Wylie has been a member Delaware Valley German Shepherd Dog Club for 40 years, and president for the past 35. During that time, he has been show chairman for their specialties on numerous occasions, as well as serving as chairman of the Mid-Atlantic Futurity. He has been a member of the Hatboro Kennel Club for more than 40 years, and president for the last seven. For the last two years, he has worked with the York GSDC and several others to help continue specialty shows. As the president of Delaware Valley, he has organized 14 agility trials (two per year).

He is very familiar with GSDCA bylaws and Robert's Rules of Order. He has served on numerous parent club committees including the futurity committee (since 2005), national trophies (3 times), grounds committee (4 times), and served as liaison in 1983 and 1989 for the Philadelphia nationals.

Dean has been an AKC judge for more than 25 years. He has not shown nor bred Shepherds in many years, but he owned and bred Sel CH Dean-etta's High Time, handled by his daughter, Trisha, who is a professional handler. Dean attends at least 50 shows a year and the National. His has an acute awareness of the problems facing our breed and breed clubs.

Dean has the knowledge, experience and dedication – and a life-long love of the breed. He will bring a fresh face to our board with expertise few can match.

At a time when our board needs candidates who will restore confidence and civility to our club, Dean can bring decades of knowledge to the table – to help restore our club’s standing in the world of dogs and with the AKC.
